DIY Coconut Coffee Face Exfoliator

Mar 9, 2017 | Nutrition, Skin Issues

This coconut coffee exfoliator does not only smell divine but will help moisturize and exfoliate your skin leaving it feeling silky soft. This scrub is something I like to use on my skin 2-3 times each week. It’s also a fun, easy, economical and healthier way to ensure you know exactly what you are putting onto your skin!

I have been using this for a few months now and absolutely love it. Over the years I have been conscious about the products I use on my skin as so many healthcare products on the market contain toxic ingredients.

Coffee provides many benefits to your skin, it’s been said to help reduce cellulite, redness and improve skin firmness and circulation.  The caffeine draws water from cells and constricts blood vessels slightly to create a smooth, more even tone.

Coconut oil is a fantastic moisturiser and is very soothing for the skin, it also contains a natural SPF. On its own, it is an amazing makeup remover. I normally keep a jar in my bathroom to use just as a make-up remover, it can be used daily and will help to hydrate your skin.

This exfoliator works well for my skin which is often sensitive and sometimes dry. If you have naturally oily skin maybe try it out once a week and see if it works for you.

Ingredients:
1/2 cup coconut oil (melted)
1/3 cup ground coffee beans (I grind my own using a nutibullet)

Method:
1.   Pour melted coconut oil and ground coffee into a mixing bowl and mix well.
2. Pour mixture into a small sealable air-tight jar. Stir the mixture again after 30-60 minutes before it solidifies.
3. Use 1 teaspoon of the mixture to scrub your face with, then rinse off with warm water.
4. Use in the morning or evenings a few times each week for best results as part of your normal beauty care routine.

Hope you enjoy!
